Application: Submit an adoption application using the form below. You can apply for more than one pet at the same time.
Note: Submitting an inquiry through Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet does not take the place of our adoption application.
Phone call: If your application looks like it might be a good match, one of our volunteers will reach out by phone to discuss your preferences and the needs of the pet(s) you applied for.
Meet and greet: We will arrange a time for you to meet the pet(s) you applied for, typically at a neutral location such as a park. If you currently have other pets, we may ask you to bring them along for a managed introduction.
Home visit: If the meet and greet goes well, we will arrange a time to bring the pet(s) for a home visit. During the visit, we will introduce the pet(s) to your home and help you set up the environment for success.
Consultation: Every adoption through TREAT Pet Rescue includes a consultation with our partner trainer, Nhut Vo of Redemption Tails. The consultation may occur during the home visit or at another time.
Foster-to-adopt trial: If the home visit goes well, the pet(s) will stay with you for at least a two-week trial to ensure that the placement is working out. If everything goes smoothly, you can decide to adopt – or, if the trial is not working out, we will take the pet(s) back into our care.
Adoption: To finalize the adoption, you will need to sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Once you've completed these steps, we will transfer ownership and the pet(s)'s vet records to you, and they'll officially be a part of your family!
